Access to Mental Health

Access to Mental Health Services in Rural Alberta

The province is facing a mental health crisis with inadequate resources to respond and this is amplified in rural Alberta. We are losing both adults and youth to this epidemic.  Mental health issues are not identified early enough and when there is a cry for help or an individual is facing a life or death situation, appropriate resources are not available.

The resources to tend to these vulnerable individuals is non-existent and if they do get the opportunity to obtain the necessary treatment, the wait times are incredible.  The province needs to step up and tend to this ever-growing vulnerable population.
